Titanium cutting boards are the next big thing

Is that a fancy turntable being used as a cutting board , or a cutting board that looks like one ...or ?

Do you like those Brazil made knives ?
It`s just a glass cutting board with a print of a DJ turntable - erm the cheapy Brazilian Tramontina knives were bought for using on my glass boards - even though they are budget steel knives - they are not that bad - I still have one in regular use that is over 50 years old !

It`s coated soft cutlery grade 304 stainless isn`t it AusLox and jbmonkey ? solid titanium would cost a bomb - hundreds - haha !
There`s a new one born every minute as they say.
Without looking it up I`m guessing solid titanium is much softer than hardened glass - top steels are about 6-7 , pure Ti is less than 3 but the steel beneath the coated Ti boards is too hard - not a good combo lol.
Personally I`d rather eat wood debris than bits of titanium - more natural - no heavy metal haha !
I have this lovely glass board used for serving mostly but I`d only use cheap crappy knives like this on it.
I am used to el-cheapo knives as Larrin Thomas says - blade geometry and proper heat-treat is more important than steel composition.
It also helps if you have knife / sharpening skills for inside and outside for 5+ decades - no choice with me lads - chucked in the deep end lol !
Just last week I chopped over 80 kg of onions alone and I`m just a volunteer helping the homeless - not as bad as the Winter ; with this £10 worn-out carbon chopper !

As a retired mobile and club DJ, I approve of this turntable cutting board and also I must have one, LOL! That is just awesome!

I`m a retired Hi-Fi salesman RocketFoot - I have a budget Dual DJ deck and a Linn Axis - I love record players !
Let me see if I can find you a buying link Rocketfoot - Yeah the bay and the big river site do `em but I`m not sure if they ship Stateside.

Yeah sometimes Chefget but just with crappy knives _ I don`t always have the time to scrub, deoderise and rinse and dry and oil my endgrain American black walnut board !
I like dark wood because it doesn`t show the stains as much from beetroot and tomatoes etc.

To me, cutting on slightly softer metal with more metal doesn`t make sense even if you don`t know the relevant science and properties of them both.

I have various wood, soft and hard plastic boards and a couple of glass ones but I thought I`d give something else a try.

I was looking at engineered boards like Corian and Richlite and expensive hard/soft synthetic rubber Japanese boards ( which I`ve tried and are great ) but I thought I`d give silicone boards a go at home after cooking for 50 years.

I ordered these two dark grey molded silicone boards and they`re in the post; they should be fine because I`ve used them briefly at friend`s houses and at commercial eateries.
At work we have to use colour-coded LDPE and HDPE so they can go in the commercial dishwasher to comply with nonsensical food safety regulations , but they`re terrible in every way - bring back wood ! - it was perfectly fine for thousands of years !

I`ll review `em properly when they land because then I`ll have more time to evaluate them.

The boards came and they`re not silicone - they are are LDPE ; they were miss-sold they were described as molded silicone.
I have plenty of plastic boards so I`ll give `em to my neighbour ; he`ll appreciate them; not used yet naturally !

it's says pure titanium in the description and then look at the pic and what it says......so confused..

maybe it's just a chyna mystery/potmetal cutting board?

So many things on Amazon are like this. Can't trust the description. I only use them for the easy returns, but if it's a product I use repeatedly I just order the same exact thing from aliexpress for a lot cheaper.

90% of the stuff on amazon is rebranded chinese stuff anyway. I spent an hour the other day trying to find a simple organic soap.
