Toby the new dog! but what is he????

He looks like definitely some pit, and some lab/beagle.
Whatever he is, he is a great looking dog!

How old do they estimate he is? Looks like he's still got a little puppy-ness to him.

It's awesome you adopted him from the pound. You're guaranteed a trip to paradise, and 3 playboy playmates (which is actually better than 72 virgins) when you get there for your kindness.

I am no expert, but at only 40# I can't see pit/lab. I'm guessing (as someone above mentioned) JRT + pit or maybe boxer?

Whatever he is- mutts make the best dogs, and shelter dogs make the best pets! Congratulations!

I was thinking Boxer /Lab cross or terrier / Lab cross. What ever he is he is a really good looking dog.
Jim

Definatly got Pit in him. Great lookin dog. I just got me a new pooch too. Rescued him from the pound. A beagle whose daddy got deployed to Iraq and couldnt keep him. If that wasnt the situation, I wouldnt have taken another dog, but I couldnt bear to see him in the pound for that reason. As an ex Army guy, I felt a duty to take him in. Hes a great dog though. Ill post some pics of him when I get a chance....

Good on ya for rescuing that guy. Im all for rescuin a dog when you can.

Pound suspects he is about 3 and he has a lot of play in him! but we try to wear him out with some long walks/runs so he's nice and worn out at home.:)

Definitely pit/AmStaff/Staffordshire terrier somewhere in there. As far as the size thing goes, 40 lbs is a pretty common size for a pure bred pit. Not sure what the rest of him is tho.

I've owned pit mixes and love them. Usually very smart and loyal dogs.

our dog daisy is a lab/pit/chow mix. Your dog might have some chow in him. Does he have any purple spots on his tounge?

I have a Pit/Lab down in Brazil and she is much larger than your dog, she's larger than my full blood Pit. Mac

I don't care what he is, do you want to clone him? :-)

He is beautiful and looks to have a very sweet disposition.
