My father was a medic with The Royal Canadian Army in France in WW1.
He ran the x ray department at VA hospital when I was born in 1954. He passed away when I was a teenager.
He was a true gentleman. I never heard him say a cross word with anyone. He did not talk about his war experience but I know it deeply effected him.
