Toughest Wood for Scales/Handle?

Does ipe make a good knife handle? It's incredibly hard and rot-resistant.

Does ipe make a good knife handle? It's incredibly hard and rot-resistant.

Ipe makes a good handle material. But, unless you are lucky, you may only get a plain brown handle, like the one time I used it for a handle. But it can take a lot of abuse.
