Traditional Knives and Toys

Just returned from a short trip to attend a wedding. Stopped in a Meijer's store to pick up a few items and found this outstanding little 1963 split-window Corvette Sting Ray (1:36 scale) for $6.00. (Yes, this generation was a "Sting Ray," not a "Stingray.") My main knife carry for the trip was my Case teardrop jack, shown here. (Also carried my Case stag mini copperhead in a leather slip as my "dress knife" for the wedding.)

Excellent matchup! 😎

Cool Corvette! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

My 2 younger brothers and I got an HO racing set for Christmas in 1964. It came with 3 or 4 cars and each of us claimed one of them. My youngest brother took a Mustang, next brother got a Buick Riviera, and I got a Corvette similar to the one you just got. Here's a photo of mine after I had attempted to soup it up a little.

Keeping the vintage car toys theme going:

I went rummaging around my parents’ attic the other day, and came up with these (and some other) Corgi toys. The Datsun 240Z rally car was mine, the others belonged to my late brother. Shown here with the last remaining pocket knife from my childhood, and my mother’s 1st place rally cup from 1962. Of course as a kid I never paid much attention to her stories, but I seem to remember her telling me she was navigator for someone. “PVMC” was presumably a motor club in the south of England somewhere.
