I like the small size and the cunningly versatile band attachment system. Haven't shot it yet.
It's a great slingshot Jer, flat bands make a huge difference  I usually change the bands, the Simpleshot ones are OK, but there are better ones. Worth watching their videos about matching bands to ammo

I feel like the difference between the flat bands and the tubes is so great that it really changed slingshotting for me at a fundamental level.

The flats are just so much more accurate and easier to use. Before this thread (with a tip of the hat to Crazy Canuck Crazy Canuck ) I didn't even know they existed!

Between the intense cabin fever around here lately and the urge to use my new GEC English jack, I really wanna get outside and do some goofing off!

Absolutely Taylor, it's hard to explain to someone who hasn't used them. I used square rubber as a boy, and tubes, when I was a little older, when 'wrist rockets' appeared. I was pleased to be able to hit a tin can! :D Flat bands take things to another level

I was looking for those videos and couldn't find them. I'll try again, because it seems these clay balls are too light. If I release from half-draw, I can see the projectile proceeding downrange, but if I draw to anchor and release, the ball disappears into a vacuum with a flatulesque noise.

I did think they looked a bit heavy for clays Jer. You can search on YT for the SimpleShot channel, or the videos are on their website too  If you're looking on YT, there are lots of good slingshot channels
I figured out why Simpleshot insists on the use of the lanyard.
They don't want to get sued when we let go with the wrong hand and get whacked in the face.
Yep! :D If you buy some more bands, buy tapered ones. The elastic is thinner at the pouch end, so when the rubber breaks, (usually you'll notice before it breaks), the elastic won't snap back into your face!

Ball bearings work better, and probably the 3/8" work better than the half-inchers, because I have so many more of the half-inchers.

Interesting. I'll bet there's enough physics at work there to put me to sleep if anybody tried to explain it to me.

Shout out to the OP, the slingshot mfg. in the picture should send you a royalty. It has been a cold winter in Colorado, cold enough to keep me off the range. After seeing this thread I convinced myself around December that I should get a slingshot and set up in my basement. Since then 3 other friends have bought slingshots and we started setting up in the horseshoe pit of our local watering hole to practice when the weather is nice. PXL_20230321_025500538.jpg
Cheers,

I received this HDPE slingshot from 'Leighton's Cattys' a few days ago. They call it the 'Spitfire', but it's based on Gamekeeper John's 'Bloodstopper', which I have another version of. I usually find HDPE a bit slippery, in hand, and was expecting to have to wrap this with tape, but it's actually OK (firing it Thumb Brace). The clips are a cinch to use, I much prefer the double screw to a single one, and the angles of the fork tips are great for aiming. Hard to miss with this one :)

Good looking slingshot Jack! I'm thinking of ordering one.

Don't bet anything you don't want to lose on that.
I would guess something like me that is not used to shooting slingshots would have no difficulties missing at all, at all. ☹️

(I are a much better shot with rifle and muzzleloader. I am  trying to get accurate with longbow, horsebow, blowgun, sling, and slingshot ... Perhaps I will be accurate with them in the next life ... or the one after that? 😇)

I always think I might try to play a musical instrument in the next life! :D I don't know if you've used any of the modern slingshots, but they are very different to the ones we all shot as kids. The flat latex bands don't require any great strength to retract, but they're incredibly fast, powerful, and accurate. After around 20 shots, even my friend 'Tool Man' was able to hit a Half Dollar sized target at about 30 feet, much to his own surprise! :D
