Great recommendation, that's where I'd start too.Start with a Case CV mini-trapper!
A mini trapper is more pocket-friendly, but I prefer a full-size Case trapper. I like big knives! Can't go wrong with either.I've never tried a trapper, never really looked one over to be honest. I'd like to try one, so I'm looking for suggestions. (I don't care for Rough Rider, fyi).

A few dealers still have GEC 48 models, which is a full size trapper.

Not too pricey and a good representation of the pattern to get a feel for it.

Is it available in CV?I think the Case mini trapper is an ideal size, and I prefer the Wharncliffe version to the standard with the long spey blade.
My wharncliffe mini trapper is SS, but you can get a standard yellow mini trapper in CV. Haven't seen a CV wharncliffe. Is it available in CV?
Cool pic. I like the shadow of the screen on the handle. Bone-stag?
