Jeff,

Great article in this month's SWAT magazine. I really appreciate these sort of no frills, quick hit, gear reviews. Your articles (and Pat Rogers) are the two biggest reasons that I subscribe to SWAT.

You (and Mike) tested the Katadyn Hiker specifically but mentioned in the article that no filter has held up to the "black water" found in the Amazon jungles.

How do you guys typically treat water when you are in the jungle if filters don't work? Chemicals? Tablets? Do you prefilter?

I puchased one of those dog tag survival kits Jeff reviewed in the last issue, good stuff:thumbup:
 
Appreciate the comments. We now resort to chemical treatment since there's not a filter made worth a damn for any length of time in black water.
