It probably won't be used to butcher a whale or skin a seal but his Alaska style knife works great for chopping herbs and vegetables.
Forged from 1/4 inch 1095 high carbon steel
The blade is symmetrical, it's just distorted by the camera angle
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain
Slight convex grind to a fine edge for good slicing
Cutting edge approximately 7 inches
Handle is stabilized ambrosia maple 5 inches long
Leather edge guard
