Those scales look different from any other samples that I've seen.Satin/Westy UF2![]()
Nathan has stated that as a rule he never uses paper micarta as it can be brittle. This rule is in effect at all times except for when when he uses paper micarta, at which point the rule does not apply. Hope this helps. Those scales look different from any other samples that I've seen.
Are they paper micarta? From the photos I can't seem to make out any of the under lying linen or canvas fabric usually visible in micarta scales?
I believe "Westy" at the top of the post is a reference to old Westinghouse micartaThose scales look different from any other samples that I've seen.

It is pretty dope. I wish I had more of it.
Is that the same stuff you made some fk2 scales with as well?
The bright sun really pops the lighter colors that are hidden within the scales, they’re pretty cool to look at...
...they have a chatoyant quality to them of sorts.
Thanks. I'm relieved that I have a set of these and there isn't some other swirled pudding pop looking scales out there I need to be on the hunt for.I have the UF2 scales and they’re the same as these on the FK2. Same scales in both pics, they have a chatoyant quality to them of sorts.
