Vintage Schrade Cutlery Corp's Uncle Henry LB-1.

This is what I've learned from my research, please correct me if I've missed something.

This model was produced in the USA between 1981 and 1996. (edited, my original source was wrong.)

Looking at the paperwork, this one has to be pre '85 when the company changed their name.

And

American Blade Magazine changed their name to just Blade in 82... So this was likely made the first year of production.

It's mint condition, I got it on ebay and I'm rather enamored with it. .

Great little knives. I use a "Mac Tools" one like yours as my keychain and have a couple other variations. I think you figured the age of your example about right.

The first Schrade LB1 came as a limited "Uncle Henry's Cub" in August 1981.
The first Cub came in a "Free Display unit"... Ken

If you collect the pattern, don't forget the first use as a Scrimshaw, the 1983 SFO made for K-Mart. It used the LB-1 tangstamp, had a rabbit for the art. After the 1983 issue, it became a regular in the Scrimshaw lineup with the number 511SC.

Art for the Scrimshaw issues is as follows:
1984 - Chipmunk
1985 - Raccoon
1986 Opossum
1987 - Frog
1988 - Weasel
1989-91 - none
1992 - Squirrel
1993 - Woodcock
1994 - Scorpion
The 511SC was apparently dropped from the lineup after 1994.

Here is a 1981 magazine ad for the new LB-1
