Does anyone know what's going on with the line running through the main bevel?
It looks like some were edge-quenched but with the steel types that can't be it.
Is it just a design feature?......carefully and selectively etched/finished to give a laminate appearance?
Nice looking knives....I'm just curious on that aspect.

That’s an S grind: hollow grind on top, and about half inch (?) flat above the edge.

Funny, I didn't realize that was what you were referring to. I was looking for something else that wasn't there. LOL.

Thank you sir. The Mod 12 is a great companion when I am clearing trail and cutting overhanging limbs. The knife cuts fantastically as a chopper, despite not being overly big. The handle shape and texture allows me to not have to grip too tightly while swinging. The sheath with dangler is handy for being out of the way while using a chainsaw, but easy to reach/deploy.
For those who may not know, the Volunteer sheaths are designed to allow for retention adjustment which is nice.

CPM3V low temper protocol, 12” OAL, 7” Tip to Finger Guard, .21 spine. I don’t know the weight. Similar in size to the CPK SDFK but balance point is a bit further towards the tip. I will attach a couple of photos for you to compare.
It cuts way above its size.
