I bought this old wade and bucher at a flee market today. I figured it would be a fun project to refurbish and I couldn't go wrong for $10. I was hoping to get any information about it just to know a little history

Very good steal and good steel! I can't give you any info on the age of it, but I think on the newer-ish end, W+B being more famous for their wedges and what I think might be bakelite scales (but I can't be sure), I think, but still fantastic regardless. little hone wear, and no major pitting suggests it won't take long to get to the good steel. http://straightrazorplace.com/srpwiki/index.php/Wade_%26_Butcher

I like the sound of that but what is bakelite?

bakelite is pretty much the worlds first synthetic plastic. They could also be acetate, there are ways to tell, but I don't really know them off the top of my head.

the England stamp is after1895, if Sheffield only prior to 1895, scales should be horn, as most wades are.red hot pin test on inside of scales if it stinks badly its horn. never had a bad shave with a wade if its honed right.clean it up hone it well and shave with it.
