I usually deal with heavily rusted stuff. Those are different animals

Things I know:
14 oz heads with very dry handles (3 oz)
The gold paint was applied after the handles were mounted( or maybe, just retouched).
They seem to have factory edges (very blunt) and never chopped any wood. Probably fell of the wall couple times and have some edge damage.
One of the reasons they caught my eye was old fashioned shape of the handles

The questions that come to mind mind:
Who made them?
Is it possible the paint is factory original ?
Is it patina or some kind of factory applied oxidation layer.
How a bronzed axe would look like straight from factory line?
Options:
1 Forced brownish patina
2 Electroplated.

Paint on the handle

And there comes the real bummmmmmmmer.

Never crossed my mind somebody would do something like this just to hang couple hatchets on the wall.
