If I buy a used Spyderco which is missing the pivot screw, will the company replace it for free (as long as I pay shipping)? I was under the impression that disassembly voided any warranty. Clearly the knife was disassembled by the previous owner.

Best way to know is email or call and ask.

Give it a shot. Be polite and explain that you are aware warranty does not cover what youare asking. I always try to pay for parts as well as i don't expect them for free. Charlene is great and always a pleasure to deal with.

If it's just the screw I'm sure they will replace it for free. They have some of the best customer service I've ever had, give them an email and I'm sure they'll take care of you.

I'm reasonably sure they'd send you a screw, assuming one is still available. Doubt they'd repair it for free. But, as noted, the only way to know for sure is to ask them.
