What’s your favorite big name/well known/large scale production knife and/or company?

Several issues.
1. Usually soft.
2. Too expensive for the materials used.
3. 1075 even on some small blades. I mean, 1075 is great for big choppers, but small knife has nothing to lose using 1095 and being ran at higher hardness.
4. I dislike the designs. Mostly models without any kind hand guard/choil and lots of scandi grinds.

Condor is basically trying to be bushcraft version of ESEE. I'm not bushcrafter or huge fan of ESEE. I'd take Terava Jakaripuukko over Condor any day.
Better steel (80CrV2), better heat treat, better design than most of their models and way better pricing too.
Actually that's not true, Condor makes a few good models in 420hc. Hog sticker comes to mind.

I own a ton of Spydercos, almost always have one. Yojumbo/jimbo, PM2s, Native and Chief, Shaman, Police, Cricket, Dodo, Kopa... Goes on and on.

Next is Cold Steel and Victorinox. I am embarrassed but proud too, to own... 5 Espada XLs in three steels and two styles. Eight if ya include the Large. XHP + S35 fancies, hollow ground original AUS-8 G10, two G10 AUS10a, a fancy XHP large and two G10 DLC XHP larges. I have some artistic plans with them.

CRK, Fällkniven, Spyderco, Victorinox, BRKT, Helle, Mora, Microtech & GEC.

Hard to pick one, but that is the brands I like and have liked for many years. There are A LOT of brands n knives I dont care 4 at all out there. Guess I'm lucky in a way.

I think Benchmade is my favorite, but Case is a close second. I love them both, so these are probably my favorites out of all

Spyderco.

I haven't updated the list recently but, based on the last count, there are 168 Spydercos out of 386 knives in my collection.

Far more than any other brand.

I've been brand-loyal to Benchmade since the late '80's, through the ups and downs. I would agree that there have been QC issues over the years and pricing issue of late, but I like the young D'Asis' direction and willingness to experiment. Thinner edges were a great place to start!

Of all the Axis models, the 555 Mini-Grips are still my favorite (hollow-ground, with the hole opener), and for me they were a steal (appropriately-priced :)) at around $85 online at retailers. Glad I picked up a few. Newer models are neat, however. I traded my Son a Shootout for a Claymore, and we both love that Benchmade is doing with the lighter materials and construction.

I like Benchmade (Griptilian - mini and full, Bugout 535BK2, Mini-Presidio2), Buck (501, 500, 110, 119), and Victorinox (I own a wide variety but EDC the old 74mm Executive).

Based on the big production requirement:

Victorinox for slipjoints/multitools
Buck/Spyderco for folders
ESEE/Becker for fixed blades

I’m a small fixed blade guy so I tend to like smaller makers for those.

Ima have to say Opinel. It’s what I carry, that and Victorinox. There are a few Benchmades on my shelf, but that’s where they stay these days. Never bonded with Spyderco.
In fixed blades I like Kabar/Becker, CPK, Mora and Busse. CPK, of course, can’t fairly be called accessible, nor can Busse, although the Scrap Yard models with Reseprine C handles are easier to come by, and to pay for.

Spyderco Military is my #1

Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2 is a close second

I like some Kershaws and some Cold Steel models too

Benchmade, although their prices seem ridiculously high nowadays.
I was once fishing off a tree branch that hung about 15 feet over a pond and when I went to cut my line my Benchmade slipped and went right into the mess of branches piled up by a beaver under water. After hours of trying to retrieve it with a magnet I gave up, 3 weeks later I came back to fish and gave it another shot with the magnet and somehow it got picked up, no rust or any ill effects besides needing some lube. Still carry that knife all the time
