what about the OD-1

I checked the WalMart by work but they didn't have them. I asked the guy if he knew anything about any new Kershaws and he said that he knew their whole knife section was going to be redone in the near future. I figure the new knives will come with the new display area/thingy. I'll check the two near the house this weekend sometime.

All this talk about how great the OD-1 has achieved the desired effect. Had to overcome my aversion to Wal-Mart and visit 2 of them to find one. They had all the models listed earlier except for the Zing.

Everything that's been said before is true. Sweet little knife, razor sharp, cool flipper, etc. This is a fantastic value at the price Wal-Mart is selling them for.

I got a zing from wal mart yesterday and an od-1 for v day!! Both of them are shaving sharp out of the box.

The zing is very nice, I swtched it to tip up left hand ( can be up/ down right and up left) and it rides nice and deep. The action needs a little lube it seems a tad sluggish.

The od-1 is super smooth , but the pivot is a bit loose so I can flick it open if I try to. Mine came tip up eighty, and it can be up/down right and I'm pretty sure tip up left.
My only real complaint about this one is that it carries fairly high.

Overall, I think both knives are incredible values. I would easily pay $60 for each of them.

I will do an in depth reveiw once I get a chance.

Thomas stated in another thread that the official walmart date was 2/23 - some stores have them early. Most stores will have them by the 23rd.

I guess all the Walmarts in my area - northern DE/eastern PA - are waiting for Feb 23. All have the old knife display and the clerks tell me that they will be putting in a new display with new knives later this month. Sigh.
None of the on line stores, that I am aware of, have received their shipments yet either. Sigh sigh

If I'm echoing anything anyone has asked I apologize, but can I find the Zing and the OD-1 in a Wal-Mart in NY? I can't find any decent blades in NY.

As a point of reference, Wal-Mart stores, and Walmart.com are two separate entities. The store sales out number the online sales by a ton.

The Tanto Blur is the only item in the stores that is currently online.

We did get an all USA selection in the stores this year.

Tanto Blur
Black Leek
OD-1
Zing
Skyline
2445 (non cataloged item)

Look for them by 2/23.:D

My local sal mart had the old display, but I just asked to see alpnthe kerahaws behind the counter, went through em all and found my zing and od

So I just took my od-1 apart, and noticed something wonderful. Kershaw used copper washers, once I relube this baby it's gonna be amazinger ( made up words are ok )

Yup Phosphor bronze washers aren't found on many other knife companies' knives, Sog being one of them.

That's why Kershaw's/ZT's are oh so smooth.

ya i noticed the bronze washers too. that is a nice touch that kershaw does that makes their knives that much better.

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and knives in general, so I just wanted to introduce myself here since my first purchase was today, a Kershaw, specifically The OD-1. I also have a RAM on the way.

First of all, I can't compare it to other knives, but from what I can tell, this is a very smooooth opening knife. I love the feel of the flipper and how the blade just falls into place with a solid click. Just as someone previously said, you can use the flipper or you can even just give it a nice flick and viola... go find something to cut.

Like everyone else, I got mine at wal-mart, but it didnt come in a box. If anyone in southern california is looking for a wal-mart that stocks them, the one in Pomona does. Just ask for the Kershaw 1775X, as mine was labeled.

I can't put this thing down.
