What did you rehang today?

Have read nothing definitive that i recall.I have a single oval camp hatchet that has f1 under the poll and an Empire B.H.U with F5 under the poll.Thinking it might be true tempers id mark or some such also have a double oval with no other marks as well as the big C craftsmans with no other marks.Have seen pics online off the bigC stamped ones with the F as well as other hardware store brands with it.

The vast majority of my craftsman axes and hatchets do have one F stamp or another. Most are F1 but some are F4 or F5 as well.
It is interesting! Googling it brings up nothing that I could find. I'll go look some more. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it though.

A Keen Kutter that I got for free from may dad-in-law

Also a Fox I customized the handle. To match one of the knives I made.

Them stamps under the poll have been discussed here before. I was finding them on Fulton axes and maybe others I don't remember the others for sure. Not sure who made Fulton but Sears carried some of them. I happen to have a Fulton house axe handy here at the moment it's stamped F-0.

Started this one about a week ago and got busy with other stuff. Finished up tonight after work. Keen Kutter boys axe on a 28” house handle with a homemade walnut wedge.

this is what the handle started out as. I don’t know why they put these big ugly swells on their handles but I don’t like them.

both of these started out as the same exact handles. The darker one is thinned down a little more and I may take the lighter colored one down farther if I feel the need later on.

Very nice! Yes those swells were hideous! Nice work! I've got some walnut laying around, I might have to try a wedge in that flavor soon, I see lots of you guys using them, they look great!
