What is Ontario's relationship with King Cutlery?

A couple years back, I bought a King Cutlery "BlackTac" folding knife, and the packaging indicated that King is (or was?) part of Ontario. For a Chinese folder made of 440, it seemed to be of good quality, and I liked it enough to buy another. Since then, any attempt to look up other King Cutlery products shows me only a single set of kitchen knives.

Does the BlackTac by any chance predate the Rat folders? Mine was marked "First Production Run". I believe I paid about $15-20 for it at the time, which is about what I paid for my Rat tanto.

Hi Inazone,

King Cutlery was a house brand that we used for some of our internally designed but globally sourced products. Those products are now released under OKC International. Thanks for the kind words about the knife. We're proud to do the vast majority of our manufacturing in the United States, but any of the OKC international products are still held to a very high standard.

As for the timeline, RATs came first.
