What is your "bang for buck" knife

Manix 2 G-10 Rex 45, $126.

Ontario RAT 1 or 2.... I have......
RAT 1 in AUS 8, a great beater knife that's easy to sharpen.
RAT 2 in D2, a great EDC knife that holds a nice edge.
I want to get a RAT 1 in D2 soon.
The handle style fits great in my hand and the blade style is great for all around work. I couldn't believe the fit, finish for the price.

A Mora and a good SAK, followed by a Buck 102, 119, and 110. These knives are the best value and there is no wondering about their quality.

I used to poo-poo on Buck using 420HC as a base steel because it is not up to a lot of super steels in edge retention, though it is good for one deer. What made me change my mind was Dr. Larrin showing the 420HC is actually very, very tough, just what you want in an outdoor knife. Of course, the Buck 110, 119, and 120 were popular in Vietnam.

A QSP Penguin is my bang for buck winner. I bought a D2 liner lock, it might have been under $30 at the time and it’s a great user. It has better action then many of my more expensive knives.

please mention reason or reasons it is "bang for buck.")
Buck 110. I travel/have traveled to countries that most people will never visit. A Buck 110 will cut food, can function as a yawara stick in situations when you don't want to display a blade and need a quick reaction tool. It can also perform a limited function as a hammer.

These things have to get a mention. Bucklites. I think I paid $10 apiece for these and they’re light but strong.

CJRB Feldspar is a great bang for the buck knife. My wife loves her mini.

Couldn’t agree more on the SAKs. Love the way that alox wears. New:

reality is I really don't need anything else but a SAK...but I don't live in reality
Exactly. My super tinker is usually all I would need, but it's not very fun. At $80, my CF/Damascus Civivi Exarch checks most of the boxes for me.

I think the intention was for us to suggest a single specific knife, but as brands are being mentioned as well I'll stay in theme. Specific knife the Hultafors Heavy Duty GK. I can get them for £4.99 each. I literally treat them like disposable stanley blades they are so cheap. But the knives are so tanky they refuse to die even when used as literal shovels digging up roots.
Honourable mentions to all Mora, SAK and Opinels.

There's a lot of good choices. For me it's the Spyderco Byrd Raven 2, Kizer Mini Sheepdog, Kizer Begleiter, Joker Trampero, Joker Ember, Cold Steel Finn Hawk, Black Tusk Bomber, and the Morakniv Companion Heavy Duty.

Enjoying my Ruike P662-B. Been carrying it everyday for a few months now. Was impressed with the fit and finish and build quality vs the price. Comes with 14C28N steel, which holds a very good edge for EDC use and strops back very easily. Will happily buy another Ruike knife.

Got a Coast BX315 lockback a couple of months back and have been pleasantly surprised by the bang for buck. Comes with 9Cr18Mov steel, which is way better than 8Cr13Mov, has a solid lockup and a very comfortable rubberized handle that fills the hand. Also comes with a sturdy nylon sheath. No pocket clip though, however I've stuck it in my pocket before and it doesn't really bother me.

Opinel and Victorinox SAKs get an honourable mention. Not a fan of the scandi grinds on Moras, but they are also good bang for buck if scandi grind is your thing.
