What knife would you like to see next from CPK?

Something beater-ish in 5160 would be interesting. Budget line or something. Green micarta.

No

5160 is a fine steel. For other people.

If I'm going to make a knife, I want the best materials available. I care a great deal about the performance because it's a big part of the value of my finished work and there are better steels than 5160 and plenty of decent choices out there for bargain knives.

D3V Pizza Wheel
Maybe not so much a pizza wheel, but in an adjacent vein, I would love a really nicely made ulu in a better steel like AEBL. I use an ulu on a regular basis, and as far as I am concerned, once you start using an ulu for pizza cutting, the pizza wheels are a lot less appealing.

Growing up in Bush Alaska ulus were ubiquitous, but the highest end you could typically get were ones with blades cut from old saw blades. My main ulu at home is really bad stainless, which limits the utility of the knife.

Because of where I grew up (Nome, Alaska), I am very partial to the Fish River or Shop/Nome/Seward Peninsula type ulus. I feel like more modern takes always try to get fancy with cutouts like a one handled mezzaluna or knife handled bearded axe, but when you take the middle out of the blade you lose a lot of the control. It seems like designers focus on the full-handed chopping grip that you almost never actually use, without thinking about actually using the ulu to do things like skinning, shaving, rocking, mincing, etc.

In any case, I'd love to see a CPK Ulu, just to see what Nathan would bring to the knife. In the spirit of the CPK Kephart, where Nathan just figured out how to produce a truly excellent version for a classic with better performing materials.

And it would make an excellent pizza cutter.

I have a nice Roselli Ulu from Finland I picked up years ago from Ragnar's Ragweed Forge. I thought my wife would enjoy using it but she never does. (First image is from Ragnar's old site...the second from Roselli's.)

Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist - How about a Delta 3V or AEB-L pikal knife, double edged, 3.75 to 4” blade ( and Ninja stars ).
I'd be in for that as well although I'd prefer a blade under 3". Would be legal to carry in most states with no permit and is a very effective weapon that carries well. Something similar to Ban Tangs stuff would be great.

Micro/mini EDC would be so nice! I hope we eventually see this. My wife does not like knives but I can see her using a smaller one.
