What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

This is one of my favourite Barlows, I keep thinking that one day I might take it apart and put a new blade in it, but I cant bring myself to do it.
Important tang stamp!!! I'd keep it; maybe a little fine steel wool to show it off!!
 
The Matches are "England's Glory"

They were the matches of choice when we were kids, strike anywhere and just a bit longer than Swan Vestas,
You could strike them on the Zipper of your jeans, if that was the only dry spot. LOL
I have set me some fires with those matches.
 
Of Course, Lol.
My Grandma and Grandad did not have a gas or electric fire, they burned coal to heat the house in wintertime. A new fire had to be started every day. :)
We also "camped out" most weekends and sometimes for weeks on end in the school holidays. Usually someone had to go home and steal "one match" from their smoking parents. We invented the one match fire when we were six. :)
