Hey Guys and gails,
Maybe you can help me pick out a good sharpening system. Please let me know your opinions, reasons and web pages to go to.

Thanks

CR recommends the SM 204. I have used one for some time and, while not the very best, seems to work just fine. Oh, and a strop.

The Sharpmaker"]HTTP://store.knifecenter.com/pgi-ProductSpec?SP204MF]Sharpmaker works well and is easy to use.

Yep. The 204MF is the one. I sell a ton of them and have used the same system (earlier version), myself, for over 15 years. Haven't found anything to beat it yet for edge maintenance.

It's a bit slow for full re-edging and reprofiling but it sure works.

I use the Razor-Sharp wheel system for heavy duty re-edging and fixing damaged blades (broken tips, nicks, chips, etc.) but I always finish with the sharpmaker. I haven't found a need for a strop but some folks like to finish up with one.
