When we lived in the Ozarks, my wife always made me stop when she saw a patch of bittersweer bearing fall berries. She’d jump out and cut some for decorating. Up here, i planted some about thirty yesrs ago. This was the entrance to my original garden, and I built a big log arbor lashed together with grape vines leading into the gate for the bittersweet to grow over, which it did. The arbor rotted and fell down eventually, but the bittersweet lives on.
I had to prune out a bunch this year because it was encroaching on my garlic patch, so I twisted up a wreath out of it.
Those are grapevine wreaths behind it. Good Christmas present for my Mom, maybe.
I like the strong action and loud snaps on these 53’s.
Yep. My wife rolled her eyes at my repeated
“Listen! KACHING!”
Thanks, sir!
That rope knife may never be tasked with cutting any more rope but it spreads miracle whip like nobody's business!
Mine only works with Duke’s Real Mayonnaise.
Thanks! I'm always on the look out for a Kastor brand tang stamp.
"Wild Canadian Rye" sounds like something I'd like to drink to warm up, while looking at pictures of your sunshiney knives, Jeff!
Well, Rachel, even though I don’t drink, I am the cause of several other people’s drinking!
It’s been awhile since I told this, so I’ll tell it again… Rachel sent me that 881Y Stockman as a gift after my son died. She knew my old 293Y Trapper needed a worthy coordinated companion.
I bought the 293 new back in high school in the early ‘70s. I carried it everyday in high school and college.
Almost done with jobs for the year
It’s all in the phrasing, Fred.
In my case, I’m running out of year first.
