What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I was dreaming of being reunited with my rather excellent HJ (or Big Jack as I call him) as I rode around Spain. 😁

As I decided to go for a walk on the wild side that was my choice, along with a small/light Alox SAK (with saw) a very,very good combo for the outdoors.

I wanted to find a conker and make a hole to play conkers as we did as kids,I forgot string so used the spine of a leaf.

I left it hanging near a seat so someone would sit down and think what the hell is that. 🤭

The awl is such a good design/construction that it leaves a very smooth hole and is almost effortless in use.

I decided not to take a bag but stuff my pockets with what I needed (a mistake),I took my lightweight unlined sit mat which is one of those things so simple yet perfect.

No snack and only a small bottle of water was a mistake as well. 😇

The ground was soaked and I struggled with my weak kness/legs,but I enjoyed being out and about, spotting deer was an unexpected bonus.

I first spotted heads in the grass, then as I got closer they turned and ran.

Oh yeah the guy in the blue sport coat was the AP at the last school I worked at. Looks like he got a promotion but not for long.
