Thank you for the kind wish. I can't say things are going well, but things are happening and some progress has been made. I've been diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The idiopathic part just means the cause is unknown. Its progressive and there is no cure. I started on a drug two weeks ago which will hopefully slow the progression. I'm seeing a rheumatologist who is investigating a possible auto-immune connection. If a cause can be determined, it may be treatable. The fibrosis has apparently been going on for some time now. My bout with pneumonia last fall caused an acute exacerbation where it got a lot worse all at once. At this point, the best outcome is the drug will slow the progression down enough that I will live long enough for something else to kill meI hope everything is going well health wise! That dinner sounds scrumptious.
Hang in there Mike! Having been circling the drain twice in the last year I feel for you.Thank you for the kind wish. Regardless, I've got a few years left![]()
In one of life's little ironies this is a lung disease that wasn't caused by my past history of smoking.
Probably more than you wanted to know
