What year 1197?

Hi all. I tried to get info on this knife from a collector and all he would say is that he’d give me $30 for it. I wasn’t really looking to sell, just wanted to know more about it. I inherited this from grandpa. It’s a 1197. I believe it’s made early 1980’s. It’s fully 5” closed. It looks to be unsharpenned and minimal scratches. It’s probably been in the box forever.
