What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

Whoops, I was a little late printing my February wall calendar, and neglected that today is a holy day of obligation in my religious belief, so I will be abstaining from secular works today. Mea culpa. Reopening tomorrow.

It's seven o'clock, kitty feeding time (number 4 of 5 for the day that is lol) and I thought I'd take a moment to share what I have been grinding today as well. These daggers are 1/4" thick AEB-L at a tough 60 RC. All but the one on the right, that is. It is the same hardness due to what it is, but it will be for a trade with a gentleman I know who likes his knives thinner, so I have thinned it down some and also cut out some tang material to make it a bit lighter as well. Anyway, this is just the rough grind, and I have a few belts to progress through still, after I even up the grind symmetry on a couple of them. The four on the left are destined for the exchange.

Shoot, I knew I was forgetting one of the late Cliff Stamp's warnings.... oh well. I guess he'll have to hold it backwards.
Genuine questions for Crag the Brewer Crag the Brewer and David - I am mostly ignorant and not that familiar with the design. How would you tend to use this?

How might you typically deploy it - in a hammer grip with the edge up?

I haven't held This version, so maybe David will answer? It's still with him....
but, this is my second knife with this handle design I have had David prototype for me.
I'm testing various blade thicknesses. This knife is a tiny bit thicker than my first.
I plan on making More of these in the future........ ;)

I call this handle "Always"..... as in it Always feels comfortable. No matter which way you hold it.
I'm Very critical of knife handles, and don't like most handles that I have owned.
I designed it so it feels great with both conventional grips like saber, and unconventional grips like pikal/reverse grip.
Regardless of edge up, or edge down. (I'll show more pictures of what I mean in the future)
It's a full, comfortable handle. I like more support. I have been rough on my hands growing up, and now I want to try to take care of them better. Haha

My first one was what you would be more familiar with and is my camp styled knife.
This one is sharpened on the straight edge. wharncliffe style
The Curved part is the unsharpened spine. Although future slim-downed dagger versions sharpened on both edges will likely be made too.
The tall height offers a secure guard so your hand doesn't slip onto the edge, and it supports a larger wound cavity.

I'll post side by side pictures in the coming weeks once it arrives.
It's really pretty Awesome. I'm really excited.

You've got me, I just followed the design instructions.

But yeah when you told me about your vision, I pretty much figured it was a giant Pikal.

To answer your question though....... If I'm carrying this at 5 O'clock... I intend it to be drawn reverse grip, edge down.

If I am carrying it at 11 O'clock, I am intending on drawing saber, edge up

Giant??? hahah........ It's Only a 7 inch blade.

Today was cold but not actually bad. Hands are awfully dry now though. Nothing a little water and oil won't fix.

Here's a nail I thinned down to fit inside my CF tubes to push any debris out.
