What's your Cold Steel EDC today?

I had to do it... Just got the XHP XL and an XHP Large, WITH a Wicek leather sheath to boot comes myway for $200?

And the thing is, I was only gonna buy a fancy Large to put a black XHP blade on it. Use the S35VN for a Merlot G10. But now I feel as though I must get both of these engraved with floral scrolling on blade and bolsters... and buy another Large fancy one to make my "piano" Espada L... The S35VN XL must be coated as the only black XHP XL blades were the 3.6mm plain blades and not the 4mm fancies.
Very special one coming up, hint below.

I wish CS would re-introduce the Medium size. I’m starting to realize that there are probably quite a few discontinued models that need to be brought back (but never will in all likelihood)

Love the knives , but that last pic was badly underexposed and unfocused ...unless that's some processing special effect ? ;)

Yes Sir. Your occasional comments on the knife throughout the forums are some of the reasons that I chose it. I haven't had a chance to get any good use out of it yet but I'm impressed with it so far.

I removed the clip and I also carry mine at the bottom of my pocket. In my case, it's my primary cutter and my secondary knife is a smaller lock back about half its size.
It s been a very capable cutter for me. And it disappears in my pocket.

Yeah the 3" is just a tad small for the designed use of the knife. I still may pick one up, but if they roll out a 4" version I will 100% be all over it.
If you re talking about a use for self defense, I d rather have a 3” blade with a 4” handle than vice versa. As I think about it, that applies to other uses also.

I bet you d like it. Surprisingly capable for work. And I have no hesitation taking it out of my pocket to use in front of others.

Edit: I also wonder why the new owners discontinued the 4” Holdout and kept the 6 inch one. The 4 “ version is also very useful and carries easily for work.

I just prefer a blade length over 3" for most any task that a locking knife may be presses into. Generally, most of my EDC folders are in the 3.5-3.75" range, and 4" is totally fine. I don't live in an area where pearls are clutched if a pocket knife is used. However, anything over 4" can get a look of "why? That looks super impractical".

That said, for the cost, I may go ahead and pick up the 3" Hold Out. I have been shocked how easy the 6" version is to carry and how ridiculously solid it feels open. This was my first G10 CS folder, and the level of robustness compared to a Voyager is night and day.

I think the 3" will be a fine addition. I'd still like a 4", as I think that would make for the perfect length that would be both practical as well as useful when TSHTF.

Father's day is right around the corner. Maybe I should start dropping hints :D

I couldn’t even find any 4” Hold Outs for sale on the inter webs, not even the auction sites. I’m guessing nobody wants to let go of them…3” and 6” were available.

I m also used to using a 3.4-4 inch folder as a work/edc knife. And I never worry about others reaction to my using a knife at my job Or otherwise in public. I don t think using a knife to help with a task is any big deal. And that attitude may be why others around me don t seem to be concerned with my use of my pocket knife.

While I currently am carrying my Lawman today, I might just switch to my 4 inch Holdout before leaving the house. I haven t used the bigger Holdout in a while, but I ve always liked that knife.

I've been carrying around my cold steel Voyager tanto 5.5 incher with snaggletooth for about 2 weeks. I've grown quite accustomed to it. I do not even want to use my espada at this point. Call me crazy but I like the cheaper Voyager better than I like them more expensive espada. I don't think I'll be rotating much. But if I do need a smaller knife I'll go with a Raja two. Or my Kershaw link. excuse the volcanic rock we don't have much grass.IMG_20230426_085614998.jpg
