What's your newest Buck knife

I've been away for a while, but just dropped by to show this one I picked up recently.
This M9 is one of the five marking variations of the Gen 4 made between September 1987 and 16 September 1989.
Mil spec and mil issued (but doesn't look to have been too far from the armory) she's correct with all the right parts and
only showing slight wear if any.
The 110 is my 'ol 4 Dot (with faint dots which makes it Version 7, Variation 3) from 1985-6.

Got 3 nice 112s from Bucksway.
    • 1987 Finger Grooved version of the Commemorative knife. This has a brass frame - recall that the non-finger grooved version has a n/s frame. In original box with sheath.
    • 1980-1981 Stag. Very clean version with nice thick bark with original box and sheath. (the thing that looks like it might be a crack is actually cat hair - need to take another photo)
    • 2020 Cocobolo. This is the January 2020 BOTM also having S35VN, drop point and n/s bolsters. This is #3 of the 11 BOTMs that featured 112s. I'm still missing #1, which was the December 2018 BOTM with Ebony and S30V. Do you have one for sale?
Got a great price and I'm glad to add them to my collection. Bucksway has a lot of knowledge about 112s and his collection contains a lot of rare oddities

The state of MA changed the auto knife laws last year and I have been on the fence about one of these, decided to order one got it yesterday as I was going to order another custom 110 but I really like the G10 slabs
they are perfect. The fit and finish is spot on with this one and I am happy I got it. It will be my new EDC sheath knife. I have left the sheath that came with it in th box as I am not a fan and will use a nice older broken in sheath.

Yeah, thanks to Critter Critter 's Knife Rights group, PA's knife laws were changed a couple years ago to allow automatics, too. I just haven't felt the urge to get one yet. And as for sheaths- instead of switching out sheaths all the time, I have an older one for the 112s & one for 110s that I use. I just prefer the stiffer leather used for the old ones, and although the new sheaths look nice, they're still in the boxes.

Check your local Tractor Supply. Many of them are selling knives on clearance prices. I bought a few Cases a couple weeks ago, but went to a different store yesterday and ended up getting the 722 for like $30.. and had to grab another Case lol

I just checked, and the only Bucks my local one has is a Spitfire for $49.99, a 110 for 69.99, and a 371 stockman for 39.99. So no big savings going on here.

I also picked up a Case at my Tractor Supply a couple weeks ago. Online, it showed the full price, but if I clicked "Store pick-up" the price dropped by 50%. It only seems to work for in-stock knives, and the discount varies by knife. The biggest discount I found was 50%, but some knives only had a 10-15% discount.

Thanks. I tried that just now, and the price for the in-stock Spitfire remained $49.99. I even added it to the cart, but that didn't work either.

Bummer! It looks like it varies quite a bit by store. The one closest to me has a Spitfire with a 20% discount. A little further drive would get me a Spitfire with no discount. About an hour away would get me a 50% discount. All of them show that they're in-stock.

I think the pricing/ sales varies by store. I picked one up locally last week, it was full price. For me and the distances involved, not worth the drive to save a bit. So an orange Spitfire is my newest Buck:

Mine was suffering from the tightness and sharp edges others on the interwebs have mentioned. Watched a couple vids for disassembly, cleaning. reassembly. Took mine apart. Unlike the others have mentioned, mine was free of any burrs and excess lube and other dirt. So I just addressed the sharp edges issue. (All of the machined edges except those chamfered are extremely sharp, the lanyard hole quickly frayed the outer sheath of paracord and the handle was a bit uncomfortable to grip tightly.) I spent some time with some 1500 grit sandpaper and ran it over all the un-chamfered edges and the scalloping. Took my time, working slow, only removing enough to remove the sharpness. Only removed color in a few spots. Edges are still crisp, but now without bite. Feels much better in-hand. Not worried about the small spots of color removed as this will be my toss-around wherever needed knife and the finish will wear over time anyways. Also removed the pocket clip, the pants I normally would carry this with have slanted pocket openings and the knife doesn't fit right.

Nice to see you back!

My local store has the orange at full price and the silver at 50% off. I'd rather have orange but I think I'll pick up the silver with the discount. I like how the handle shape resembles the 112.

Thanks. Once the bite was gone, it feels pretty nice - not as nice as good wood IMHO, but nice for an all-metal knife.

edit - my local store didn't have a silver.

The orange is the one my local TSC has. Not a bad knife for edc really. It's lightweight & not too big. I'll have to try to avoid Tractor Supply for a while, because if I handle one, I'll probably buy the darn thing.

After taking it on my walk today, I'd agree about being a good edc. Not sure if everywhere, but my TSC had the Spitfires in blister packs. Had to buy to handle.

edit - fixed fumble-finger typo
