I'm considering buying an A.G. Russell Italian Made Tactical because it has nice materials and a nice design for an impressive price. I don't know anything about their quality or customer service. I don't see a lot of talk about their products, even though some of their stuff seems pretty nice for surprisingly low prices. Then again, some of their knives seem surprisingly expensive for what you get.

What do you guys think of A.G. Russell knives? their quality? service? warranties? anything really. Thanks!

Bought a woodswalker not too long ago, nice fit n finish. In my experience I'd say they're fine.
BTW I saw a very nice review of that Italian Tactical on youtube.

And yes I'd say for Ti and ATS-34 very nice price.

I've been buying from A.G. Russell Knives for a number of years and have always been happy with my transactions. They communicate well, their customer service is great, and I've always been happy with the knives and and other goodies I've purchased from them. Once, I purchased and received a knife that wasn't quite what I had expected and was able to return it (in new-in-the-box-condition) with no questions asked. One of my more recent purchases was an Acies which I am very satisfied with - it is in my EDC rotation. I think that A.G. Russell backs anything he sells and is easy to do business with. Shipping has always been timely also (unless an item is back ordered - and you will be informed of this right away). I think that if they have what you want, you can do business with 100% confidence. Just my experience and two cents. Hope this helps. Mike

Mr. Russell has worked hard at making and keeping his reputation. He takes his business seriously. I have not seen any junk knives or bad products in his catalogs as long as I have seen them. I feel confident doing business with him. Occasionally there will be some real gems that are available nowhere else other than his store.

I've never had occasion to use his warranty but he does have one of the best in the business.

I say buy with confidence.

A.G. Russell is very active on this forum, and I've seen nothing but good things about him, his warranty and his knives.

I agree with what everyone else said - buy with confidence.

He's been around for a few that's for sure. Havent bought anything yet myself (came close to an Acies). I just wish they had better pics on their website. If you're largely an internet based business with lots of exclusive merchandise, good pics are a must.

I had the chance to finally hold an Acies at this past Blade show, and i wasn't impressed. This is just my opinion of course. I had really made a point of looking for it, so i could look it over as i was considering picking one up. The ZDP-189 is a good choice in steel though.

Years ago I didn't buy much from AG because I felt his prices were a bit high.

But in recent years I have made more purchases and come to realize that a slightly higher price is easily outweighed by oustanding customer service and attention to the quality of the items they sell.
Plus I've become more familiar with and pay more attention to the items designed by and made for AG Russell, and many of those are true bargains and of great quality.

You can buy with confidence, being assured that if you have ANY issue with your purchase AG will make it right.

Fantastic.

His customer service is second to none, shipping is fast and the product value far exceeds the price. With his warranty, there is no risk at all. Don't like the knife? Send it back and he'll replace it or return your money.

Of his knives I've bought the Sting, Woodswalker and Honcho. Have purchased 4 Funny Folders (one for wife's purse and the rest as gifts). Also
his 2¾ paring knife (which my wife loves). Totally satisfied with quality and service (If only more companies would be as professional and customer friendly). Wife also appreciates the steel thumbnail she bought and carries on her keyring.

A.G. Russell is truly a living legend in the knife community. He was the first to ever start "mail order catalog" sales of knives. He is a pioneer on many fronts for the knifemaking/knife collecting industry. You have nothing to worry about.

I have been a customer of AG Russell for the last 20 years. Great customer service and buying experience next to none. I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Russell at BLADE a couple of years ago. He is a class act, and treated me (and others in attendance) like old friends. I would recommend AG Russell to anyone looking for a positive buying experience. Bill.

If AG has something that suits your criteria, jump on it!
If you aren't happy, you can get out of the deal more easily than with most anybody else. I have several of his knives, some bought directly and some from the secondary market. All are good knives, and dealing with the company was smooth.

I have learned a LOT about knives by reading the info he provides in catalogs and on his website. Definitely one of the folks that helps build the knife community and make it a better place. He earns your business.

I've been a customer for at least 20 years, in fact I used to live near the showroom (which was the kitchen of a farmhouse back then). There's no one I trust more to buy from. Huge thumbs up. Yes, I sometimes find lower prices elsewhere, but no one beats AG's warranty and customer service.

I believe there have been past topics here at BladeForums about the Italian tactical knife. A search should turn up more information about that particular knife.

Bought knives from AGRussell a dozen or so times in last 10 years. Best customer service, painless return one time. Kept everything else. No reservations.

Good seller. The Italian tactical is a very nice knife and one of the best bargains in A.G.'s catalog. It's a great slicer and the build quality is better than you would expect for the price. If it had a Spyderhole and was tip up I would still own mine. I'm just not a tip down thumb stud kind of guy.
