Which Hinderer finish do you prefer?

Stonewash, but the newer tumbled DLC(not battle black) is really nice, much smoother than the olderDLC

I'm for stonewashed all the way--handle and blade. My first HalfTrack had a Battle Blue lockside which I liked OK, but I didn't care for the WF blade at all. My experience there corroborates @halden.doerge 's relation of sluggish action with that blade finish.

The XM18, XM24, and MP1 I have are all coarse stonewash--blade and Ti slabs--though the 24's blade has an REK re-grind leaving just the original finish on the flats. My present HalfTrack is more finely stonewashed and has a sort of polished look to its blade and textured lockside which I like a lot. It's the best flipping RHK I own.

RHK coarse stonewash is wicked sweet, though....

stonewash looks better in pictures as different angles will show the knife drastically different. Working finish with anodized handle (battle blue or battle broze) looks better in person than stonewash (anodized or not).

If the XM-18 purchase you are considering will be your first Hinderer, finish doesn’t matter.

Upon receiving it, you will immediately get bitten by the Hinderer bug and own every finish eventually anyway - ask us how we know.

;)

It is a 5 year old thread. I doubt the OP is still around as people come and go
