Which knife company has the coolest packaging?

Most of my knives show up in a cardboard box inside of a cardboard shipping container. The following are the exception to the rule.

Neil Schutte, South African Knife Makers Guild
Custom, 8 Inch Dagger, M390

My favorite packaging that I've received so far has got to be WE knives. Love the zippered pouch that fits perfectly in the cardboard box.
Boker also does a nice job, doing a kind of foam with cutout to fit the knife. Similar to CRK except the box has a nice magnetic flap.
By far the coolest (or maybe just different) is the Skaha. Comes sitting on a nest of hay like an egg. :P

Not experienced with Chris Reeve knives packaging but the knives Ive seen are horribly ugly and bland. Same with ZT.

BRS has good packaging. They upgraded their packaging from what it was. And IMO it's only because it's $300 plus dollar knives that aren't really worth it. It's basically a monopoly on a niche market. But you get a nice zippered case and cloth and some coin that a marketing gimmick for paying $400 for their balisong.

I've always been a fan of cold steel boxes. But now they are switching to clamshell too.
Lol....

I am not one to care much about the packaging either but I still think the thread topic is a cool idea. I love seeing that White River has been mentioned a number of times. They do a very nice job. I also really like how Hoback packages their knives. The craziest packaging we have ever gotten has been from custom maker Sergey Rogovets. He includes a huge pelican case with all sorts of stuff in it.

They are some bland knives:rolleyes:

Does anyone here think that when a knife comes in a sweet pelican case that they are not paying for that pelican case? Probably paying significantly more than you could actually buy it for yourself too especially since it probably has a pretty logo on it as well.

Well the Plain Janes are bland. I wish the graphic ones had graphics on both sides. Would make them a lot more appealing. You have to admit that CRK's are tools and utilitarian, not going for flashy 90% of the time. Classy in some models, sure, but not flashy like other brands.

Even the graphics are meant for daily use, if someone can bring their self to it. They’re all packaged the same, whether it’s a plain or a stunning graphic.

I would agree. A pretty little wooden "box" with a slide lid for my $95 White River Firecraft 3.5" from DLT..

I like their packaging a lot. I wonder if folks toss this packaging or generally save it? I saved mine.

Spyderco does a more than adequate packaging effort, at least on the knives I have purchased.

Of course you're paying for the pelican case. I would rather the knife be less expensive personally.

William Henry Knives
Of course they're nice, given the cost of their knives (which I like, BTW. I have three of them).

I know Boker doesn't get much love on this forum, but their packaging, at least on their Plus line, is pretty nice. Simple but elegant in it's own way.

Your disdain for certain companies has nothing to do with the topic. Why even mention it?

I think the packaging should fit the knife. Crk does this with a bit more fancy stuff. Gec does this with the tube and paper, which I quite like. Spyderco does this with simple and efficient.

I'm not so broke that every dollar needs to have utility. I like nice packaging and I'm willing to pay for it even if the packaging just sits in the top of the closet. TBH at the price of the knives that come in the more special packages the packaging price isn't going to make them any more affordable.

More plain

CRK has changed packaging over the years..Several times. First boxes contained a knife wrapped in tissue paper, company info and registration and birthcard. Pretty plain packaging. Some models had wooden boxes but those were pretty rare. Functional container. Now, some of those boxes or lack thereof will bring the value down on the secondary market with collectors- Me being one of them.
Having said that, if you don't care for the box or packaging,..cool, then it was a delivery system that is easily thrown in the trash and served its purpose.
Some manufacturers and makers moving to other more expensive packaging materials is interesting to me but doesn't dissuade my decision to purchase one way or another.

I would agree, their Tree Brand line for Traditionals has awesome packaging for knives under $65! Baggie and a box that has a neat lid that snaps closed (around the Boker label on top)....
