Simple topic. Lots of veterans of the knife world here, as well as many relatively new community members. I’m curious which knife related topics you all find most interesting to hear about, discuss, or in some cases, teach about?

There’s a bunch for me, learning about different steels, looking at knife porn all over the place, looking at the upcoming releases, drooling over knives I’d like to buy, seeing people melt down trying to get their point across. It takes me about two hours to go through my favorite forums/threads.

Which models are on your radar as of today? Glad to see you jump in on the topic, Ajack!

Seeing knife failures,destruction tests,sprinkled
with a bit of blade steel talk/comparisons,and last
but not the least the aesthetically pleasing images that
BladeForums provides,I would be lying if I said that
not a single knife photo saved in my hard disk was
from here. You guys know how to take good pictures.

I like the discussions on woods oriented knives.
The steel discussions bore me for the most part. I'm past seeking the latest and greatest steel for knife.
Help me out threads are interesting. But I dislike when the OP opens the door for many options or choices and then mentions he likes such a such..... then after 30 posts, the OP either doesn't buy anything or gets precisely what he was leaning toward in the first place.
What knife would Sasquatch choose might be fun.

Love it when a thread happens to pop up discussing the VERY knife I am mulling over whether to buy or not. Usually something said or discussed helps push me one way or the other. I also like seeing pics of latest aquisitions and what folks are carrying..

The ones I "appreciate" the most are the reviews, a lot of work goes into many of them. The ones that "interest" me most are the outdoor usage threads since that is almost exclusively (well, excluding the kitchen ;)) where my knives are used.

Knife reviews and testing, and M T E.
I also like sheaths and such.
I enjoy using good performing steel, so I like to see what's out there, and how it does for certain jobs.
I skip over topics that get beat to death 5 times a week.
Also don't care for pretentious post critics, that have all the answers, but don't have a clue. It is fun to see the occasional pissing match though.

BF overall.

As a newbie like me, it’s necessary to spend many hours reading every week to elevate yourself from zero knowledge to knowing enough to avoid slicing off your fingertips or wasting thousands of dollars on unwise purchases.

I always find in-depth conversations about geometry fascinating. I actually like knife recommendation threads IF the OP is active in the thread and responds to comments. I find it very satisfying to give feedback and commentary that someone is paying attention to, and if it ends up leading them to a knife they love on my recommendation, well, that makes my day.

I'm a bit fascinated with steels, blade geometry and what makes a good work knife.
I hope to someday make a knife or two and I'm just trying to add to the knowledge base in the meantime.
