"Why do you have so many knives!" how many have heard this?

I get asked that question sometimes, and I really don't have many knives at all.

Currently, I own two OTFs, two fixed blades, and about a dozen folders in total, counting the four that I've ordered these past two weeks.

When I get asked that question, I say: "Would you like to see the swords or the rifles next?"

Yes !
Your Delica
and
Your blender and coffee maker !

Watch more American movies - they got all clues on a plate available :^D

Is the FBI going to kick in my front door at three o'clock in the morning because I have a Delica 4 in K390?

I have honestly never been asked this by anyone in over 30 years of using and collecting. Not once.

I mean, it's not like I carry all the knives I own on my person at one time.

All my friends are knife guys, so of course they never ask. And I don't let random strangers in my house, so no one really knows how many knives I have.

This^

No one knows how many knives I own, not even close. And the people who know that I own some knives would never ask, either because they are "knife people" themselves, or because they have only seen me with one or two at a time, are not "knife people", and couldn't care less.

But then I'm very particular about who I share my "hobbies" with. Especially a "hobby" that involves "weapons" (many of my knives would/could be considered "weapons").

Well I did get a few knives just to get! Guess they are considered weapons as well. I got 3 bayonets just to have them. One even fits on my lone AR with an lug for one! And it has a wedge for cutting wire an M-9 that isn't a sharpened swedge so I can take it out of my property! I think? Some others have a sharpened swedge I can't take off property as I live in an "Evil Dagger! State. But Then some models came out with no sharpened swedge so I had to add those to the edge tools one can use! I'm mostly a user of knives... well when it might take me time to use ALL my knives. Some are where they might be needed like the old farm house and I used every one of my car knives in hairy situations, so having "To Many Knives" has saved my life more than once or some one else's.

"Because I like knives". Depending on the person who's asked, they either find it intriguing or scary...

The other question I get asked is "why do you carry a knife?". Well, because opening packages with my teeth or car keys isn't very pleasant, nor efficient.
