Why Not 100% Edge?

You are a smart one here in the group but I prefer the choil on smaller blades for finer work like skinning. I need to choke up on the blade to do finer cuts. My two cents

Nothing wrong with having it on smaller blades. Just not necessary. A choil always gives more control, but on a smaller knife you lose to much cutting edge. In my opinion.
 
Why stop at 100% edge?

Your comment & examples brought to mind the extended heel edges of oriental noodle cutting knives.

Which IMHO would be aggravating to use for Bushcraft as OP wants, but certainly allows direct hand pressure to be applied to the edge. But it would be the wrong tool for the purpose.

I think the leuku recommendation is on the mark. After all, the knife was designed by a culture that depended on wood craft for much of its history.
