Why was the 710 discontinued?

The 710 was my favorite BM of all time and I miss it dearly. I could only hope that they’d bring it back someday with updated steel.
 
Discontinuing the 710 was very disappointing.
Now discontinuing the 42 was moronic.

I think the excuse for that was tooling.
With what BM charge they should be able to invest in some new machines.
