Will Ferrell on Man vs Wild...

Just got done watching it. Pretty funny. Nothing amazing though. they really didn't do much.. Ate a few eyeballs, made a little shelter, camped the night out, hiked around and flew home in the chopper.

caught it last night, some parts were obviously "scripted" like the twinky, funniest part was when will looked at bear like he was gonna eat him right before "testing his training"

A waste of time, in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of Ferrell and that show proves he's not that funny without a script. Ad-libbing apparently isn't his game. :thumbdn:

I thought it was pretty funny. I don't think Will was trying to be funny during most of it, more like his normal conversation...he's an alum from my fraternity, and he's just a normal dude.

The knock against Ferrell is usually the opposite actually. He never really acts. He just ad-libs and improvs...which is why all of characters come out the same.

I only caught the end, i'm a Ferrel fan. The part where they're watching the eagle and Will says "I wonder what his corneas taste like?" was pretty damn funny.

My take was a bit different...the show had been conceived of as a joke fest for the Land of the Lost movie, but when they actually got out in nature Will Ferrell was clearly in over his head. He was thoroughly exhausted and being supported by Bear/invisible staff. :foot: It's the first time Bear seemed to really know his stuff rather than come across as a boy scout trying to impress his mommy.

So anyone else catch the part where bear said "after spending the night in canvas....."? I'm guessing that meant they slept in a tent rather than their shelter.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was entertaining, which is what the show is all about to me. I think some of yall are too quick to judge the Bear. I'd like to see yall spend 48 hours in the frozen wasteland without anyone to guide you.

If by "frozen wasteland", you mean Best Western(which is presumably the roughest accommodations Grylls has had since filming the show) then you might be correct...if we were 5.

I could do that easily. Now, spending 48 hours with only Will Ferrell to keep me company, I'd probably kill myself.

On second thought, I'd probably kill Will Ferrell instead, and eat him. He's a fair sized fella, he'd provide enough meat for a couple weeks at least.

That show sucked big time. Ferrel is an ET :D The guy just doesn't communicate very well.

Anyway... I had it DVRd - watched the first 5 mins and then forwarded through the rest. Yikes. That was a waste of time.

My take on it was different. I am not a Ferrell fan. However, I thought that he hung in fairly well in conditions in which he obviously was not comfortable and made an acceptable go at it.

kind of hard to see, but now knife related. its orange on both sides, tip down and has extremely large lugs. probably a custom.

I noticed the new folder that was utilized, as well...I found it pretty funny, and it showed Will watched the show when he took the time to mock Bear's british pronunciation of "glacier," "vitamin," etc...I enjoyed it...

Knife was a Gerber Hinderer Rescue with the fully sharpened blade. Paused in HD at the right moment, you can see gerber written on the blade.
