Wilson Tactical Combat Elite RRF Lockup???

I recently acquired an original Darrel Ralph/Ryan Wilson Combat Elite RRF M. After gleefully opening the package to lay my hands on this beauty of a folder. I flick it open and... damn. The lock-up is late. So damn late that it practically touches the other scale! I tried opening it slower, but, same thing. I've contacted Wilson Combat to see about warranty, but. I got the "we'll see what we can do, but can't guaranty anything" answer. Do any of you know if this can even be fixed?
