Fellow forum member Quattomori, sent me an email asking about the Winchester black box knives, he had looked up an old post I had made long ago, but the pictures were no longer there view...so for those who are also interested, I took some new pics which are linked to my Nikon Pic space...follow link below.

I have a few others mixed in the pics, but most are all black box knives. These knives were made by Queen Cutlery, using old original Winchester bone and tooling which was left over when Winchester had stopped making knives and switched to making guns for the war.

To collect an interesting set, I tried to collect all knives made from 1987 -1992 which have a black bone appearance...Rodgers, Brown and Peachseed bone. Took me 3yrs to the month before I found the last one I needed. One of the hardest to find was the 5pc "Red Letter Set" which celebrates the Mod.37 shotgun in each ga.

I have a 1989 Winchester W15 2978 Doctors Knife in Black Utica Bone. Perhaps I can pull it out in a little while and take some pictures to add to the discussion.

I just remembered...I should have taken a shot of the tang stamping on the small toothpick knife...it has the year "1987" stamped in a curved / radius style, very few were made with that stamping.
I have a list of all models in my collection, once I locate it I'll post it here.

Thank you Keith!
Since someone recently posted a thread about these knives, I thought it would be nice to have a visual reference of these knives.
The two I've handled are really nice knives, and it's not easy to find much info.
Here's the one I have left:

Curious as to the difference between the '87 stockman and the '91 premium stockman. Currently have an '87 inbound and am wondering. Thanks.

Thank you for sharing the photos, I've been wanting to add a Winchester to my collection, those are some of the best pictures of the full set I have seen.
