Wood Of Last Liberty Tree Available

Some of you may be interested in this for handles. Each original colony had a designated "Liberty Tree" as a symbol of our struggle against the British. The last met its demise in Annapolis, Maryland, recently, but its wood was rescued from the landfill by a guy who thought the tree deserved a better fate. The tree is tulip poplar.

I've made a few calls to what I assume is his number, and have only gotten the machine so far. I haven't left a message yet since I've been bouncing all around town with my job, but I'll keep with it.

After a week of phone tag, I finally talked very briefly with Mark Mehnert. They'll sell it raw, or they're willing to cut to any size. The price is pretty steep, $130.00 per board-foot (144 cubic inches).
