After rough grinding
The handle is cocobolo but it was a but too purple for my taste, not that there’s anything wrong with that...
The cocobolo was stained a slight brown with water based walnut stain and the Amboyna accents were stained with aniline dye to blend the 2 woods, yet maintain their individual grain
To 800 grit, then warm wax and wheel

Koa is beautiful and currently my favorite wood. The is a fresh block, just arrived express post from Hawaii. I like to cut the handle and scabbard from one long continuous piece so the grain from the handle flows into the scabbard.
My rotation schedule has favored me with a couple of wood-clad knives this week.
