Woodsman's pal sheath design flaw

I bought woodsman's pal and was attempting to close the sheath in the dark. my thumb slipped in the gap between the leather pieces of the sheath and I cut my finger very deep. the sheath is made in a way that the sharp edge of the blade is facing the opening that people use to remove the blade from the sheath, putting the user in danger of serious cuts. *no need to reply, this thread is just to alert people of the issue with Woodsman's Pal sheaths.*

I have one of the old Woodman's Pals with the long handle, made before the company changed ownership. The sharp edge of the blade faces away from the opening of the sheath. And it cost less than half as much as the current model. I used to use it a lot and loved it--cut tall weeds and brush on the forward swing, clear with hook on the back swing. I highly recommend the old ones.
