Workbench Suggestions

Shop around and see if you can find one of the Gladiator Garageworks series work benches. I've picked up three of them for less than $100 each on Craigslist over the years. Just about bulletproof, adjustable and easy to assemble. I have two in my shop and one serves double duty as a desk/reloading bench. Don't let the $350 price tag on Overstock and other places fool you. They can be had much cheaper and are well worth it.

It would be nice to see a photo of one, if you can.

Nevermind... I googled it. Looks nice.

I found a kitchen island at an estate sale for less that $100. Drawers, doors, spots to run power and a stainless steel top.

Look for places that resell stuff from renos.

^^^ This is the right answer ^^^

when I redid my kitchen 10 years ago (right after buying the house) all the old cabinets and countertops went right into the garage as storage and workbench area. They were in rough condition, but who cares, I’m beating on them anyway! Only issue I have is that the tops are not deep enough for my chop saw, but I’m on the lookout for an old office desk to mount it on anyway.

Look on Craigslist, your local Pennysaver, or at estate and garage sales for old kitchen counters/cabinets/islands. You can usually find them really cheap, and often for free when people are remodeling.
