Just had to share this.
Every now and then something falls into your lap that is hard to believe.
Some friends of mine were cruising the local library's sale of old and unwanted books and
found what they thought would make a great joke gift for me. They were aware that I am
a novice knifemaker with the ability to turn any conversation to knifemaking.
For two dollars Cdn., (that's @ .85cents U.S.
on a good day), they bought & delivered this book to me with a laugh saying maybe I could learn something from it.
I nearly fainted.
It was an original hard copy of How To Make Knives by Barney and Loveless printed in 1977.
The condition is near mint with the only sign of use being slight wear where it was slid on and off the shelf.
The photo's are unbelievably clear and sharp
much better than the paperback version on the market today.
According to the original "due date" sticker
it has only been taken out 7 times between
Jan., 78 and Dec., 97.
Well I guess I've taken up enough of your time thanks for letting me ramble.
Oh yea, don't worry, it's going into my library
for safe-keeping and nowhere near a dirty shop.
