Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Just arrived.

All the other Jack Wolf knives have arrived with leather pouches, cloths, badges etc etc - not this one - a tube with wax paper, period.

Does not detract though from the sheer and utter quality. It is robust, precise, amazing fit n finish, formidable grind and cutting edge - scary sharp.

Some may well disagree, not wish to acknowledge (and I understand that), have to confess though - and am no stranger to custom folders - reminds me of a couple of my Bret Dowell custom jobbies, one in particular finished in similar Micarta ………the feel, weight, walk n talk, everything. Scary, eh…

I picked the same model up a month or so back.
First ever JWK and it was only the fact it was their SteelSeries that got me to try one out, the usual Ti nonsense just doesn’t do a thing for me.

First impressions were so so, even though the walk n talk was spot on and the fit & finish pretty much perfect I just wasn’t getting “IT”.

To start with I must have been comparing it to the likes of the Rough Ryder Reserve line or RoseCraft in that they’re factory made, in China, from machined parts and couldn’t see the extra value?

(Some insightful soul on the JWK FB group pointed out it was only “the budget line”, perhaps the bright colours, toy and stickers were what I was missing?🤔)

Slowly though I started to notice and appreciate such things like the nice thin full hollow-grind or that its using a traditional kick as opposed to a stop pin.
They also talk of the fact there’s some traditional hafting going on with the covers etc. but I assume that’s the same for those other Made in China knives?
But either way I was starting to appreciate it’s finer qualities.

It really came to be a prized possession however after I’d swapped out the original burlap covers for some lusciously dark Gabon Ebony 🤤 and flush fit the pivot screw(bolt) … I mean..
P.s. I added a little Junk in the Trunk with a substantial taper from original if you can see?
makes for a fuller grip in the pinky.

- very nice too H Honest_Thomas

Have spent some time with slipjoint makers, one of the things to really notice besides the walk n talk, centering etc., is the way covers are finished down to the liners.............there's a consistent 1mm., then flares at the butt. Now, that's pretty good - sure, it does vary with material and style, but as a general rule...

Yours tapers from butt to bolster, beautifully down to 1mm, very cool.

For me, the blade finish is a long ways from a custom knife…and a Victorinox 🙂

Thanks my friend and I think you need to run for office so you can change those silly laws.
And yes, travel agents can make our lives much easier. :)

NO WAYY...🥳👌
@Cosimo De Benedetto in Rome made me this fantastic Sheepfoot with special bolster and check out the jigging, I asked for toffee /tan colour for the bone. Just astounding 😻 A gentleman with the highest standards.

JUST SUPERB...what a beauty.
Fell out of our mailbox yesterday. Crimson SS Sowbelly. The coloring is very even - no fading at the bolsters. The Peach Seed jigging is superb.

Hatchet_Jack Hatchet_Jack and me are cornering the Australian gec market....Everyone knows how much I loathe and detest flipping but the red one was lonely....and the price was very reasonable...and I got got dibs and baggsed it ...so there.
Never been a massive fan of GEC acrylic...but there are some standouts and the butter and molasses is one of them...Thanks Jack...and is much sharper than the virginal UNXLD.

As it arrived yesterday...

My cousin gifted a lightly used one of these to me back in about 1981. Over the next year or so, I gifted said knife to a friend who fussed with old pocket watches. He needed something to pop the back off those watches and the Cub just fit the bill. I can't say I ever regretted gifting that knife to him, but over the years, I sort of missed having it around.

After searching for some time, I was able to work this one out of the bay at an affordable price. Blade and lock both operate very smoothly, and I think it will clean up quite nicely.

Out for a walk today in a county park with my latest acquisition, a Very Good Knife Co Wasp. Also shown is my GEC83 for size comparison. I did radius the handle to suit me (the original handles were dead flat) and I dyed the handles from natural micarta to a darker brown. At 6-3/4" long, think it and the GEC are a nice combination for a walk.
