Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Letter carrier was late today and just dropped off these two gems. GEC nailed it with this run of #15s. The red micarta is my favorite of the three I had a choice of. The Opinel néo6 an impulse purchase to satisfy my curiosity. It snaps open and stays in place like a regular slip joint and fit and finish is typical Opinel. I’m pleased with both 😀.

Boker appears to have a new category: History Knife & Tool
Not many offerings in that category yet, but this one struck my fancy, a traditional sailor's anchor knife with ebony covers and 1.4116 stainless blade steel.
bokerusa.com/anchor-knife-01hy003?c=151

Fit and finish is immaculate.
The three brass pins extend through the knife from one side to the other and are flush against the ebony on both sides. The anchor is flush a
Ebony covers are flush. with the rest of the knife.
The brass liner for the lanyard hole is a bit below the surface of the ebony.
The anchor is not pinned. It is likely adhesively bonded.
Has a half stop.
The spring is flush with the blade both opened and closed, and very close to it at the half stop position.
Blade can be pinched open. If using just the nail nick the spring is somewhat stronger than a standard red SAK.
"made in Asia" But I've got Boker Solingen knives which have a lesser degree of fit and finish than this knife.
1.4116 steel is commonly used in kitchen knives. Not great edge retention, but very stainless. It's about like 420HC, which I can live with.

3rd time around for me for one of these Swamp Green Jigged Bone Bayou Trapper knives. It's a cool looking knife and I couldn't pass this one up. The swamp green coloring on this particular knife is very dark while some were much lighter showing more green in the covers.

One of my favorite patterns, Ed! I do not have the Swamp Green with gator shield yet but I know there is one in my future...my wife is from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where gators in the backyard are a common occurrence.
