Here's an interesting ZT inspired knife for sale, not sure who makes it:

It is a Chinese knock-off, and a very poorly done one at that. It could also be an attempt to copy the Lahar.

Your link is close to deal spotting too. Just a friendly heads up.

its a copy of the boker plus jim burke

Since Boker Plus is made in China, we can assume that the knife is a non-branded version from the OEM.

> wait your right , isnt boker plus from Taiwan , Boker magnum is the chinese make.

Originally Boker Plus was made in Taiwan. I am pretty sure that these days several of the Boker Plus products come from mainland China.

It is indeed well possible that these 2 knives come from the same source.

From Boker.de/us FAQ

Are all of your knives manufactured in Germany?

No. Magnum USA carries several different brand names, which are manufactured in various parts of the world. Please refer to the list below:

Boker knives: Solingen, Germany
Boker Arbolito knives: Argentina
Boker Plus knives: Taiwan and China (except model 02BO012, made in the USA)
Cinch knives by Boker: Solingen, Germany (except model 11CI403Y, made in Argentina)
Magnum knives: Taiwan and China
Marttiini knives: Finland
Opinel knives: France

How can I determine the value of my old Boker knife?

Unfortunately, we have no way of determining current values of knives we no longer sell. We recommend using online search engines to find information about your knife. There is also a general guide on our website to help determine the age of your knife, under the History of Boker section.

Now we can get back on topic, shipping is too much for SRM knives and what's up with "3 - 4 business weeks" for arrival?

Well you say shipping is too much for the SRM knives. I assume you mean the Exduct shipping fees. Yes, as a proportion to the cost of the knife's it seems high. On the other hand I pay the same postage for a knife I send to a city 20km from my home in the Netherlands. I normally combine some knives per shipment and the shipping fee will be about 20 percent of the cost. I limit my buys to 22 euro not counting shipping to avoid duties.
In general I have the package on my doorstep in 2 weeks.

The eBay seller I bought mine from charges $6.50 or so for the first knife then $3.50 or so for each additional knife if ordered together. That's cheaper than probably any knife I've purchased from a North American seller.
As for shipping time, both of my orders took 2 weeks to get to Toronto and I've got a third order placed last week that should get here by mid next week.

Got a batch in, 8 knives.
$99 with shipping.
3 versions of the 710, 2 camo and crackle. Nice, need to be taken apart and cleaned and lubed maybe, regrind. For the price you can't beat it, but not nearly big enough for me.

1 Navy K631 G-10 Police knockoff. A bit smaller, but feels like I said in another post, exactly like a Byrd. 440C steel, thick, decent grind. Can live with it, again a bit stiff, but a bit of tinkering.... @ $15.49 iffy, I guess a good glove box knife. This knife can take abuse. Tip up.

SRM 763 G-10. Small, thin but functional. Axis lock good, nice jimping saves it, grind off. Regrind and a good discreet knife and general cutter, letter opener. Tip up a plus.

SRM 962. Large, bit small on the hole, but once open, very nice feel in the hand ... good bargain. Dull. Labeled Land but bill says SRM. Nice handles.

SRM 939 Frame Lock. Out of the 8 my second favorite though it had the worst grind. Very nice in the pocket. If they did a few more things to it, it would be a great knife.

Favorite - Bee Lo6-1. This is the second BEE and have to say they are making smooth knives for $9. Feel and fit are great, edge is sharp, not crazy, but a nice even grind. Smoothest of all of them and most ergonomic. Wish it had jimping for the thumb though, has it for the index. Tip down carry :( IMHO, best bang for the buck.

Overall, if order in the future, would stick with the larger knives. The 710s have their place I suppose, but if our looking for decent cheap knives that are a cut above the QVC knives, 8 knives, some with frame locks for $99 shipped, not bad.

Bishop, did you know that, when closed the 763's blade can be used as a bottle cap lifter.
I like the 763 quite a bit.

I've been meaning to mention this. That third order I referenced in my previous post above was for two of the 763s and I tried the bottle opening too and it worked. Neat little knife.

It works well to open those excellent Belgian beers...
;)

Thanks Dagon!
I did not know that! Saw the cutout and just questioned it a bit :)
As I just got them I'm carrying them one at a time for different reasons.

I'm finding the 710's to be perfect work knives. I usually have a razorknife on me, but its not in my pocket. These work perfect and do not get in the way. The 763 may work out the same way as well.

My usual work blade has been a grip. Now I'm saying I'm beating up a $60 blade for what?

A sneaky bugger is the 723. Didn't realize it was not a 710.
Very low profile. Small and thin like a leak, just stubbier.

Overall, I'm digging them.
Like Moras, I can see me leaving them all over the place in every bag, vehicle, box. That's why I don't see the big squeal over them. Do folks complain about Mora knives being cheap?
They do the job for cheap so what's the big deal?

Funny this old topic pops up. I bought (4 ) SRM 710's and have had one by my living room chair and one here in my office for mail opening and general light duty. I gave one to my brother and one to my son-in-law and they love them as I do mine.

The little 710 is highly flickable, looks cool, and after a couple of months of multiple daily use in the office, zero blade play, nice lock engagement and after a few passes on the DMT XX-fine and the strop, still like a scalpel or something sharper if there is such a thing.

Of course, I'd never carry the little squirt, (if I wanted a pipsqueak carry folder I'd buy the small Sebenza) but they're wonderful to have around.

So far so good. :)
