Hey guys, I've been looking at this company for a long time. Unfortunately the one I REALLY wanted is no longer available, but I was wondering if you guys consider them good useable pieces, and worth the cash. As cool as they are, I don't really want a wall-hanger and want something I can beat on without feeling bad about it. So what do you guys think? Thanks for the help. :)

Have you seen the video of them chopping with the Duce? they are defiantly made for hacking and chopping through stuff.

I just watched the Duce torture testing video and was impressed. Everything is 5160 and done in house. I wouldn't use it for bushcraft, but I'm sure it excels for it's intended use.

I've looked and read many posts on multiple sites to see what peoples thoughts were. Every person that used one of their products praised it.

I would love to get may hands on something made by them...

I got a kick out of the descriptions...

It may take some skill to kill a bitch* with the new ZT Spike, but it’s an easy way to kill an afternoon. A set of these hefty 8-inch chunks of steel, a good target, your band of brethren, and a bunch of beer** are a much more effective and entertaining way to prepare for the apocalypse than getting stoned and playing video games, again.

I had to check out the sight, very entertaining to read the descriptions of the blades, pretty damn funny. I don't have the cash to throw down on one of those blades, but they look well made.

I have the Zt Tanto really well made feels great in the hand very long and mean. The kydex is okay but could be better but I guess he knife is what matters most. I really want the Felon that will be next on my list. Overall the fit and finish on their blades is really well done.

Thanks for the pics! I'm thinking either the Felon, the Hellion, or the D'Capitan (Though it seems like everyone's picking this one up, which could be a good or bad thing).

They seem to be pretty solid if you can get past the nonsense advertising. However, at those prices and wait times for pretty basic working knives, you're getting pretty close to custom territory.

Good point. I think of them almost as customs since no two are identical and they're made pretty much all by hand if I remember correctly. It may be a good idea to get something custom and similar, though, but most makers don't make such large blades.

for me its very hard to look at a knife that looks like that and find value in it. Even if every knife is done by hand and each one is different I dont see a huge amount of skill involved just by looking at pictures on the internet. Any time I see a knife with a "distressed" finish I have to ask if its because they simply dont posses the skills to do any other type of finish work. In other words when I see Terry Guinn do a distressed knife I know it is due to artistic expression and to enhance the look of the knife. But Ive also seen distressed knives where the distressing was simply to cover the lack of genuine skill and ability to make a refined product. I really cant accept the "its handmade what do you expect" type responses ive heard in the past when I bring this point up because there are many many custom makers who craft every knife with very crude tools and can do so with amazing precision and detail. A good example of this is yuna knives. When I see the zombie Tools knives I really dont know what to think of them. But even if they are finished that way with a purpose, I still think they are a bit pricey for what your getting.

Thank you for your input. Do you know of any custom makers who can make similarly sized blades for around that price?

They are everything I hate about the whole zombie fad. The whole drink beers, play with knives called the "felon", and prepare for zombies, really hurts the knife community, bushcraft practitioners, and those that strongly believe in preparation for real life threats. The material is solid but you are paying for their marketing which I consider an insult to my intelligence. I said it before but my opinion of there company is that they are what would happen if the cold steel marketing team, green day and Buffy the vampire slayer had a baby, and the baby crapped. Sorry for the negativity but there is so much better out there.

We as knife enthusiasts work with knife rights organizations to educate the public and express that knives are tools meant for multiple responsible uses. A company like this does the complete opposite and sets us back so far. Really after looking at the website can you blame liberal people, liberal politicians, and liberal states that know nothing about knives. Of course there gonna see giant knives called "the felon" in cut tests, cutting off animal parts by beer drinking weirdo's, and want knife restrictions. And of course because of a biased media, they will get a lot more press than responsible knife owners.

Why not spend less money for a better knife and donate the remainder to kniferights.org or the NRA and ensure that you will be able to keep, carry and use your knife.
