Zombie Tools: What do you guys think?

I personally think its funny that you use the word "shill"... This thread is based on what we think of zombie tools. I explained my true thoughts. So take it for what it is. This aint not advertising lullaby. It is the mere truth that zt makes very formidable blades. Sorry to hurt your feelings. Lol

Typo! Lol. I respect your opinion... But as stated above. They are seriously a new breed of excellence. They truly are some of the best. And personally, you and the rest of the naysayers do not know what your missing. Especially until you have all handled one. I dont believe in "hype"... Its just plain and simple. Their blades are designsed to cleave, chop, and all their models are completely ergonomic. Out of the many blade conpanies Ive owned from kabar, coldsteel, custom work and other companies alike... ZT stands on top for various reasons. Yes, of course there are going to be better blades than their fellow cointerparts, but i and many others believe in ZT craft.
and what they could do. Ive been to a junk yard and field tested their wakizashi to its extreme limit. An entire car, its engine, interior, exterior, cut to pieces with ease. Cinder blocks, wood, motorocycles, doors, animal carcasses and beyond. They do the job and they do the job perfectly. So again, you may all think its a joke... But to me, its perfection. Best feel, aesthetically pleasing, and downright deadly. I feel sorry for you and naysayers, primarily because you harbor so much bias toward them. You confine yourself to what you know but do not know what is out there. ZT for life!

I too am going to recommend that you relax a bit. If you like the knives/blades they make then that's cool. They are obviously not for everyone. Around these parts, most people know ZT as the branch of KAI USA (incase you weren't aware). Wherever you go, whatever you say, or do someone will always not be in full agreement. Such is life.

Keep in mind, the same things you are accusing members of doing are the same things you are doing. You speak of bias, you speak of "confining" yourself, etc. Not everyone hee is interested in "wielding", rather carrying for utility. Just an alternate point of view is all. Discuss the knives, not the members.

I was looking at those the other day, after reading about a character in a zombie novel using the Deuce.

I'm very interested in their Traumahawk and Bone Machete, though, as others have posted, their stuff is expensive, and the wait times are very custom work-like.

Old thread, but I must chime in.

Many are turned off right away because of the word "Zombie," and while I agree, the fad is played out, I just laugh it off. But...if one can sit back and honestly say the designs have no use or whatever, well, maybe they don't for certain people. I will say that if something happened with the grid, some kind of EMP, natural disaster, or anything else to cause mass chaos and confusion, you can bet your arse that I would feel a lot better knowing I had a 30"-40" sharp blade handy once ammo was out, or no longer an option for some reason. I love my TOPS Armageddon for chopping if I don't want to carry the axe, but if it came down to SELF-DEFENSE, I would take one of their blades over just about anything I have in my possession right now....seriously, the guy bends a sword 90 degrees.

I don't know how I got to their site, but before writing them off, I actually looked through and Googled different designs (I definitely plan on buying one :D ) which brought me to this thread.

I like their designs.

I don't think I could use their designs in the wild without someone raising an eyebrow just due to the stylistic nature of their wares (much of my chopper use is at work).

But from everything I've heard, they are the real deal when it comes to their construction.

These guys are having fun and putting out a solid product, what's wrong with that? I'm also willing to bet that they like their jobs a heck of a lot more than 50% of the people on this forum, and that's a conservative guess. They are using all american sourced materials and doing the work themselves, with the possible exception of the heat treating.

I'm not sticking up for these guys out of an appreciation for their somewhat juvenile approach, but rather out of respect for their freedom to have fun and to do what they like. I hate to say it, but we as a society need to lighten up a little and allow/accept more personal freedoms rather than criticize. To each their own is my motto.

Thank you. Yes...what's wrong with that? How does that negatively affect you? Actually, it's positive for you....gives you yet another thing to grumble about. If only everyone as Accelerator, rather than clinging to their old, dated, stick in the mud thinking.....we'd see many more fun, exciting....sharp, pointy things on the market.

Products are solid with strong aesthetics. With a twist of humor. Prices are great for semi custom.
What is wrong here?

I came really close to buying one of these at Blade Show the other week. The price was a little high considering the finish on the blade and the only concern I had was with the leather wrap on the handle. I have suffered through way too many leather wrapped handles that came unwrapped after a little use. I asked the guy if they had had any complaints about it and he said I could always send it back to them and have it re-wrapped. That's good customer service but always a pain in the ass to have to worry about shipping something and then waiting on it to return. Other than that, most all seemed like very well designed and well made product.

The knives look good but I agree that people should not be allowed to have fun. Knives are serious. Bladeforum is serious. I am serious.

:D

This reminds me of the warning sign at the pool in my development.......no jumping in the pool, no diving, no splashing, no toys or balls in the pool.......NO FUN!!
Fun is good, choices are good.

Old thread but I thought I would add my 2 cents. I own The Rat Bastard and it is well made and razor sharp. Not pretty but a Beast of a cleaver! Even the kydex sheath is well done. It was too cool to resist. To test it out, my friend and I cut some firewood. It worked pretty well and was nothing but fun. To answer any concerns above, the leather wrap held up great for the abuse we put it through.
